My goal for this year’s #nanowrimo is not to finish a first draft but to finish an outline. It usually takes me months to outline a story and I want to challenge myself to do it in a single month. I know it’s not the traditional way of things and it sort of feels like cheating but I still feel that it’s something I should do. It’s important to me.
I will be brainstorming in October to ready myself for the task ahead.
As for what dreams I keep secret… Now that would be telling! 😉

Why do I write? That is a good question. I mean, it’s hard, it’s exhausting, it can even be painful and drag you into depression. So why?
Because my characters demand it of me. That’s it. They find me, they decide I’m suitable for the job, and they don’t rest until I discover-not tell-discover what their story is. Because they don’t tell me!
It’s like they all have a bad case of amnesia and I’m supposed to fix it. They are impossible! But I love them.
Writing, creating whole new worlds out of thin air, may be hard as hell… But doesn’t it make you feel powerful? 😉
So there it is. This is why I write and will keep writing. Because of my characters.
